Reports from Israel indicate that there have been major changes within the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, after some of its senior leaders were removed from their positions for what is alleged to be the failure of operations targeting Iran.
According to the reports, Mossad Chief Roman Gofman has called for the forced retirement of two senior leaders of the agency, stating that the move was taken following an assessment of their performance in various operations linked to Iran.
The officers were allegedly among those responsible for planning, overseeing and monitoring strategies to influence the political and security situation in Iran. Among the plans cited were efforts to incite protests, strengthen anti-government groups and weaken the power of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The reports state that some of these strategies did not achieve the expected goals, which led Israeli top leaders to begin reassessing the way the operations were conducted.
