According to US officials quoted by Axios, the strike took place on Tuesday and marks the first use of the aircraft since the current fighting resumed about 12 days ago.

The B-1 Lancer is one of the United States Air Force's strategic aircraft, capable of carrying a large payload of conventional weapons and conducting long-range precision strikes against military targets.

US officials have said the use of the aircraft reflects the increasing scale and severity of Washington's operations against Iran, as US forces aim to reduce the IRGC's military capabilities following attacks on US troops and interests in the Middle East.
